In 1975, at the age of just 27, Lewis Buckley became the conductor of the U.S. Coast Guard Band, a position he held for the next 29 years, making him the longest-serving conductor of a senior military band in American history.
This program, featuring the music of Captain Buckley and conducted by the composer himself, includes two extraordinary soloists: soprano Kimberly Beasley, Chair of the JU Music Department, and conductor and trumpeter Lewis Buckley.
