The Carry Cross is hand crafted in the USA from various wood from around the world. It is designed to fit into the palm of your hand. Put down your worry stone and pick up your Carry Cross.
One afternoon, at the age of 52, I came to realize that although I lived what I thought to be a “good” life, I was profoundly confronted with my loneliness. The following morning, October 11, 2009, I felt compelled and began to make crosses out of driftwood collected by my wife over the years.
It was challenging because I had never done any woodworking. After I ran out of driftwood, I pulled apart a pallet and began cutting more hand-held crosses. As I cut the third cross it struck me; the holes from the nails used to hold the pallet together were exactly where they would have pierced our Lord’s wrists and ankles. In that moment I felt as if time stood still and right there at that moment, I was shown the truth, the way, and the light of the world.
The Carry Cross is yours and mine. It was earned more than 2000 years ago by Jesus Christ. Pallets, made by men, ‘carry’ things. God alone sent his only son to ‘carry’ the sins of the world for those who believed and follow. This is why we call it, The Carry Cross.
When someone shares their “Carry Cross” story with us, it usually begins with, “You have no idea…” We know that we have nothing to do with the uplifting comfort and love that only God can provide. It is all His.
