Learn the smooth dancing style of Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers!
The elegant, smooth, and romantic Foxtrot was the most popular dance in the 20′s and 30′s, and is still a favorite of many ballroom dancers today!
Usually danced to jazz and big band swing-style music, Foxtrot can be danced to all sorts of music. Step into any jazz club on a Friday night, and you’re bound to hear a Foxtrot!
The Tango is the most infamously dramatic of all Ballroom dances. You will find famous Tango scenes in movies such as Take the Lead, True Lies, and Scent of a Woman.
Waltz is a progressive dance full of long flowing movements, beautiful turns, rise & fall, and a smooth gliding look.
When it was introduced in the early 1800′s it was the first popular dance to use a closed dance hold, which was considered “scandalous” for the time. Today it is extremely popular and danced at parties, weddings, and ballrooms all over the world!
These beginner classes will get you familiar with the basic step and the traveling motion it uses around the floor, as well as the most important steps you need!
Each half hour is only $5 for members, $7 for non-members, and no partner or experience needed! OR, come to all four for only $15! At the end we’ll have a half hour practice session so you can get to know everyone and make those moves muscle memory!
