Is this really Drunk Shakespeare??? Well...kinda...yeah, basically... =)
Suds and Shakespeare is a live show with a rotating ensemble of actors that perform scenes (yes, just 1 scene per show so we aren't there all night lol) from the comedies and tragedies of theatre’s most famous rock star; Shakespeare! With little rehearsal or direction, a lot of booze and audience participation AND a make-you-own-costume requirement for actors, S&S is like drunk history meets theatre meets crazy game show!
Featuring our lovely host Lady Macbeth as well as a live band providing the soundtrack for the evening!
In the words of our Atlanta comrades, “Shakespeare doesn’t belong tucked safely behind the fourth wall...” and we couldn't agree more!
A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM ~ ACT III, SCENE I
SHOW ITINERARY• 7:00pm ~ Pregame Drinking + Eating + Find Yo' Seat• 7:30pm ~ Suds 'N Shakespeare Show Beginith • 8:15pm ~ Post Show Ales + DebaucheryAll ages welcome, but must be 21+ with proper photo i.d. to partake in the heavenly ales. This is a ticketed (13 dollars per person) event - ticket includes entry - does not include food or alcohol. There are no assigned seats - sit wherever you'd like; plenty of chair, booth, & hightops available at the venue *
OUR GOALS• To cultivate a playground for actors to work on their craft and have some fun in a spontaneous show that promotes exploration and boldness • To introduce the works of Shakespeare to the masses in a casual, lively and entertaining way while sipping on some suds with your closest brethren, Romeo or Juliet QUESTIONS
